It's ConFusion this weekend and my pirate buddies and I are Fan Guests of Honor! I'm so excited. We've got some really fun stuff planned, some surprises in addition to our usual schtick. Meanwhile, I'm researching women pirates for our women pirates panel and scouring the web for pirate slash (tough job, but somebody's gotta do it) for Rum, Sodomy and the Slash, ConFusion's first-ever slash panel. I've got to go over my costume and make sure everything fits and so on.
And my editor will be in town and we're having lunch on Friday. I'm taking him to the Roma downtown. My favorite Italian restaurant and the oldest restaurant in Detroit.
This weekend will be the last of the events of The Big Crunch 2007-8. I've pretty much been going non-stop since, oh... (well, 2006 if you get right down to it), but this fall and winter have been particularly hectic: Japan, then ConText, then YaoiCon, then the holidays and getting sick, then residency and now, finally ConFusion. After this I have no more con appearances scheduled (tho I probably will be at Penguicon, which is local, and I won't be a GOH). I'm hoping to get to New York some time this year, and we have our usual summer vacation up North, but otherwise, that's it. For the rest of the year I'm laying low, writing my fifth book for Tor, reading student manuscripts and writing m/m erotic romance in the spaces between those other two things. I'm looking forward to catching my breath, tho this has been fun, Fun, FUN.
Hope to see you over the weekend, ye scurvy dogs! Arrr!

Then we'll have to go there together sometime soon. I'm telling you, I'm already craving their red sauce again. It's the best.

I love the Roma, too. Haven't been there in years though! In fact, I've only been there maybe 3 or 4 times, but all of them were within my first few years of living in MI (so back when Alex was in elementary school).
