Big news! A new, print, women's magazine is launching and it doesn't have diet, fashion or celebrity articles! What's it got? Thoughtful articles and beautiful pictures of sexy men. I'm not shitting you.
Filament bills itself as "72 quarterly pages of intelligent thought and beautiful men." Seeing an underserved market, editor Suraya Sidhu Singh, conducted research into the kinds of images of men that women find erotic. Can you believe that? She actually asked other women what they like. Wow. She has an lj community, called thefemalegaze where she continues to post images and solicit opinions about what kind of content we'd like to see in the magazine. It's got tons of luscious eye candy. Check it out.
The magazine is subscription only, and comes out four times a year in print, with full-color, high-quality photographs, like this:

And this here's the cover of the first issue:
Despite my personal aspiration of becoming the Hugh Hefner of m/m, I really hope this magazine takes off like gang-busters. It's so refreshing to find someone who is aware of the fact that women like to look too, if you give us something worth looking at.

My heart beats her waves at the shore of the world and writes upon
it her signature in tears with the words, “I love thee.“

Interesting. Like Lee Iacocca, she asking customers what they want instead of telling them.

LOL, and I have no idea who Katha Politt is, so, you know, you may be giving me too much there.

Well woot! The production values look first rate. Thanks for the tip.
(Hugh Hefner? Hmmmm. I think of you as the Katha Pollitt of m/m.)
