Hey, the midwest has a yaoi convention! It's called Bishie Con and it's taking place Nov. 20-22 in St. Louis, MO. Guests of honor include Studio Kosen, Amelie Belcher and Katrina Strauss. Sounds like a party!

So I just found out that my schedule is clear that weekend and I will in fact be attending BishieCon!

I just emailed you, actually. ;)

I don't know yet. I'd love to meet you too. First I have to find out if this other gig is happening that weekend. It's a signing with a local book store that's been very supportive. She's still making arrangements but she should have a date nailed down next week. I'll post here when I find out for sure.

Does this mean you're coming, Jessica? Would love to see ya. :D

If you'd like to be a volunteer, we have a form on the website you can download and either email to me (my address is on the website) or send to the convention P.O. Box.
I agree with you that volunteering is a great way to experience a convention. I've been to 12 so far this year and volunteered at or staffed 10 of them.

I really am very tempted. A local author event I've committed for is happening either that weekend or the weekend before, so first of all I have to get that straightened out.
If my schedule is open, however, will you put me to work as a volunteer, Katrina L? I won't know much of anyone, so helping out would be the best way for me to get acclimated.

You should come down from Detroit! I'm part of the staff, and we have an insane amount of events and panels for a first-year convention. Also, our sound & lighting will be superb as it's going to be run by a fabulous professional engineer who does Kawa Kon.

This is BishieCon's first year! So, well, can't say, but gotta start somewhere. ;)

Have you been before, Katrina? I'm seriously considering driving down from Detroit for this. Should I?

I know I'm excited. ;)
