In celebration of completing a crappy first draft of a new project, here's an excerpt:
Charlie sat with his parents at the dining room table. He looked at the collectible plates on the wall, the silver tea service and the Hummel figurines in the china cabinet, the avacodo carpet and the gold brocade curtains -- it was all so familiar, and at the same time, so alien. He felt like an astronaut retuning to earth after a thousand-year voyage. But it had only been six months since they kicked him out.
